We continued to work on solid objects today by taking a look at different types of pyramids. The dimensions of pyramids include the slant height and lateral edge, which are new ones to us. In order to determine the lateral area, total area, and volume of these shapes, we need to use the pythagorean theorem quite a bit. We spent time studying the drawings of different pyramids before going through a couple of examples. The students then got started on their assignment.
Assignment: section 12-2; page 485; WE #1-16; (skip mult. of 3), 21, 23, 27
