Honors Geometry; 5/1

The students got back their chapter 11 tests from Friday and were able to ask questions about ones that they may have missed.  We then started the next unit of study that deals with the volume and surface area of 3-D objects.  We went through how to work with various types of prisms today.  We showed how to calculate the area of the bases, the lateral area, the total area, and the volume of various types of prisms.  Several of these calculations are closely related to what we were studying last chapter.  The students got started on their assignment during the last part of the period.

Assignment:  section 12-1;  page 478-479;  WE  #1-25;  skip multiples of 3
