We continued our work with area formulas today by taking a look at how to figure out the area of regular polygons. A new vocab term -- the apothem -- was introduced today and we went over how to use it in the various shapes we were working with. We used several special right triangle shortcuts in order to figure out the areas of the regular polygons. After a few examples together, the students got started on their assignment.
