Geometry; 4/13

We continued working on our construction skills today by adding three more figures to our repertoire.  We made a rhombus using the two diagonals that bisect and are perpendicular.  We also drew the 3 medians of a triangle and showed that they meet in a common point.  This common point of intersection is called the centroid and is an example of how these three medians are concurrent lines that meet in the same point.  We also drew the 3 perpendicular bisectors of a large triangle to show that they too meet at a common point called a circumcenter.  The students then got started on their assignment.

Assignment:  Medians and perpendicular bisectors worksheet

Chapter 10 quiz is tomorrow
