We spent some time reviewing inequality and indirect proofs today together. The students then got started on their review packets in preparation for the test tomorrow. The students also got back their graded take home quizzes to study.
Assignment: Chapter 6 review sheet and study guide

15. angle 1
16. D; B
17. AB
18. CA; CB
19. DC
Indirect Proof worksheet
1. triangle ABC is scalene; or triangle ABC is not equilateral
2. a < b
3. angle X < angle Y
4. Doug is not a Canadien
5. Kim is a violinist
6. CX is a median of triangle ABC
7. don't do
8. Assume a is parallel to b
Reason: angle 2 is congruent to angle 3 (vertical angles congruent)
angle 1 is congruent to angle 3 (corresponding angles congruent)
angle 1 is congruent to angle 2 (transitive / substitution)
m angle 1 = m angle 2 contradicts the given that m angle 1 does not equal m angle 2
Assumption is wrong, therefore a is not parallel to b
9. Assume angle J and angle K are both right angles
Reason: OE is congruent to OE (reflexive)
triangle JOE is congruent to triangle KOE (AAS)
OJ is congruent to OK (CPCTC)
this statement contradicts the given that OJ is not congruent to OK
Assumption is wrong, therefore angle J and angle K are not both right angles
10. Assume OE does bisect angle JOK
Reason: angle 1 is congruent to angle 2 (def. of bisect)
OE is congruent to OE (reflexive)
triangle JOE is congruent to triangle KOE (SAS)
JE is congruent to KE (CPCTC)
This statement contradicts that JE is not congruent to KE
So the assumption is wrong, therefore OE does not bisect angle JOK
