Our work today focused on the similarity between right triangles. We went through an activity comparing the ratios of 3 pairs of right triangles in order to show that every right triangle can be cut into two other similar right triangles by using the altitude. We confirmed the similarity ratio in the activity, and then went through some notes to show three different formulas that can be used to work with these types of problems. The students then got started on their assignment at the end of the period.
