Honors Algebra 2; 9/20

The lesson today focused on how to use the factored form of the quadratic equation.  We have covered factoring already in our initial review unit, so factoring the quadratics should come pretty quickly.  The factored form allows students to quickly find the x-intercepts for the graphs.  With the vertex being able to be located using the values for a and b, the x-intercepts can then be used to graph the entire function.  We went over a couple of examples together before getting started on the assignment.

Assignment:  lesson 2-3;  page 92-93;  #2, 5-8, 11, 12, 14-29
