Our work in class today focused on working with compositions of translations. A couple of days ago we combined two translations. Today we worked on combining two reflections or combining a reflection and a translation. We went through a couple of these together. We also took a look at how line symmetry applies to the work that we are doing with reflection. We went over how to determine line symmetry and viewed several different pictures in the process. The students then got started on their assignment.
Assignment:
1. Alphabet symmetry question (identify the line symmetry in the letters of the alphabet)
2. section 4.2; page 187-188; #17-25; 28, 34, 40-49
