We continued our work with parallelograms and proofs today by taking a look at a couple more proofs involving triangles. We then went over a review concept from algebra in working with systems of equations. The two examples we went over illustrated how to solve a system of equations with two variables through the process of elimination.

Our lesson today focused around using similar figures and calculations. We went over how to calculate both side lengths and angles using scale factors. We also saw that the perimeter ratio is the same as the scale factor in similar figures.

We started our study of how to graph radicals today by going through an exploration activity using desmos that illustrated how different number values both inside and outside the radical will create different transformations on the graphs. The students worked through the exploration on their chromebooks.

We worked through how to prove parallelograms from various types of drawings today. We also went through one more parallelogram proof using congruent triangles. The students then got started on their assignment.

We continued our work with similarity today by taking a look at similar figures and writing similarity statements from them. Being able to identify the congruent angles and the corresponding sides that create equal ratios (scale factors) was what we focused on today.

We spent today reviewing all the shapes we have covered so far: polygons, trapezoids, parallelograms, and kites. We went through 3 example problems for review together before the students got started on their assignment.

We continued working on different scenarios today that dealt with ratios. We went over dimensions of rectangles, overlapping triangles, and scale models of various objects. The students then got started on their assignment.

We spent some time going over homework to start the period today. The students then spent the majority of the period practicing for their quiz on Monday. The quiz is on radicals and exponents rules, and is made up of two parts. One of the parts is a mental math section, while the other part works with problems that involve calculators. The students worked on a review that encompassed both parts in class today. The answers will be posted on canvas over the weekend.

We continued our work with parallelograms today by taking a look at a 6th property of parallelograms and how these all can be used in a variety of calculation set ups. We went through 3 more calculation examples together before getting started on the assignment.

Our lesson today focused on how to work with radical and exponential expressions with application problems. There are a variety of formulas in the world of science that have exponents included in them, and we worked through a few examples today of how to come up with answers using these formulas.

Our lesson today involved the 5 properties of parallelograms that we will use in working with various types of calculation problems. We went through a couple of triangle proofs to help us prove the properties and to review some earlier topics. After 3-4 calculation examples, the students got started on their assignment.

We started a new unit today on similarity. Our work focused mainly on how to handle ratios, reducing fractions, and solving proportions using the cross multiplication method. We went over 4-5 examples together before getting started on the assignment.

We continued our work with radical expressions and fractional exponents today. We identified various methods to use both the index and the radicand to solve for all the roots involved. We went through 3-4 examples together, including how to best use our calculator to approximate the values of certain nth roots.

We spent time today in class reviewing the main topics from our study this week with figures in triangles and inequalities in triangles. We went over 2-3 drawing examples and 2-3 calculation examples before the students got started on their review assignment for their quiz on Monday.

Today's topic dealt with different types of quadrilaterals. The quad. that we studied today was the kite. We went over it's definition and specific properties that can be used when solving problems. We then went over 3-4 examples of how to work through calculation problems involving kites.

The lesson today focused on inequalities between 2 triangles. This concept is known as the hinge theorem, and we went over how it works and how it applies to different types of drawings. After going over 5-6 drawings, the students got started on their assignment.

Altitudes, medians, perpendicular bisectors of sides, and angle bisectors. We went over the 4 drawings and how to carry out various types of calculations involving their meaning.
