Geometry 10-12; 1/30

The students took the chapter 6 quiz in class today.

Assignment:  none

Honors Algebra 2; 1/30

We continued our work with graphing radicals today by taking a look at the cube root function and how this behaves in a variety of transformations.  We went over 3-4 examples of this together before the kids started their individual assignment.

Assignment:  topic 5-3;  page 260-261;  #2-9, 14, 15, 17-20, 22-25;   page 254;  49, 50

Geometry; 1/29

Our work today focused around reviewing the topics we have covered so far in chapter 6.  We worked in partners on 4 sets of review problems, 5 minutes at a time.  After the students had gone over all of their review problem sets, they then got started on their individual quiz review assignments.

Assignment:  Topic 6 Quiz review

Geometry 10-12; 1/29

Today we spent time reviewing the topics that we have covered so far in our similarity unit.  We went over 3-4 types of problems together before the students got started working on their individual quiz review packets.

Assignment:  Chapter 6 Quiz Review WS

Honors Algebra 2; 1/29

Today's lesson involved working on graphing the square root function.  We went through what is the equivalent of the vertex form of this equation, being sure to note the ways in which the graph shifts horizontally and vertically.  The reflections over the two different axes were also demonstrated on the graphs.  We went over 4-5 examples together before getting started on the assignment.

We continued our work with parallelograms and proofs today by taking a look at a couple more proofs involving triangles.  We then went over a review concept from algebra in working with systems of equations.  The two examples we went over illustrated how to solve a system of equations with two variables through the process of elimination.
