Honors Algebra 2; 1/7

We continued our work with exponents today by taking a look at more complex problem types involving all the rules of exponents.  We went over 3-4 examples before the students got started on their assignment.

Geometry; 1/6

Today's lesson started off a new unit on polygons and quadrilaterals.  We went over the different ways to name and classify polygons today, as well as how to determine the interior and exterior angle sums.  There were several new vocab words and a new calculation formula to get familiar with.

We started a new mini unit today on working with figures within triangles.  Today's lesson focused on 4 figures that are involved in each triangle.  Altitudes, medians, perpendicular bisectors of sides, and angle bisectors.  We went over the 4 drawings and how to carry out various types of calculations involving their meaning.

Welcome back to the new year!  We started a new unit today on working with exponents and radicals.  To build a foundation for this, we will spend a few days reviewing the rules of working with exponents.  Today was the first of those days as we took a look at the basic rules of operations with exponents.
