Our lesson today focused on evaluating which method of solving quadratics is best for the problem that is asked. We reviewed the method of completing the square as a way to solve quadratics, and we also went over an application problem of how to use the quadratic equation.

Geometry; 10/2
Today's lesson continued to focus on parallel lines and the angle pairs they create. We went over a couple of parallel line proofs, as well as learning how to decipher 3-4 different types of angle drawings in order to complete calculations.

Our work today centered on how to write algebra proofs. This skill is closely related to writing geometric proofs, yet we work on the familiar algebra ones first. We went over 3-4 examples of these together before the students got started on their assignment.

We began our work on the 2nd unit today by talking about the different angle pairs that result from parallel lines being cut by a transversal. We showed a variety of diagrams to illustrate the different types of angle pairs, as well as working through a few calculations involving these angles as well.

Our work today focused on a few more phrases that are used in deductive reasoning. We went over how to write a biconditional, how to write an inverse, and how to write a contrapositive. Along with this, we also discussed the concept of what a negation is. The students then got started on their assignment.

Today's lesson was involved with using the desmos graphing calculator to help us create equations for parabolas from a set of data points. We walked through the different methods that are needed to enter the equations together, and then the students got to work on their assignment: determining the equations for 3 parabolas from different data sets.
