We went over several homework problems that students had questions on to start off the period. We then began reviewing how to work with quadratics by talking about factoring. We went over how to factor trinomials, as well as how to look for the GCF in these expressions when factoring them.

Geometry 10-12; 9/3
Our lesson today focused on learning some of the foundations of geometry. These involve both the symbols and the words that are attached to various figures. We went over both defined and undefined terms, as well as showing a variety of symbols that the students will use throughout the year.

Honors Algebra 2; 9/3
We continued to work with interval notation and various parts of functions today. We introduced several new vocab words: x and y intercepts, positive and negative intervals, relative maximums and minimums, and areas of increasing and decreasing behavior. We went over a couple of examples of how to determine the average rate of change as well.

Honors Algebra 2; 8/30
We focused today on working through an activity on Desmos, an online graphing calculator site. The students worked with the software to determine some of the ways that the graph of the absolute value function can be shifted and changed. These are called transformations.
