After going over the homework and entry task, we went through our lesson today on the distributive property.  The concepts of factoring and combining like terms was also covered.

the students got started on their homework at the end of the period.

Geometry assignment; 9/3

We went over a few warm up exercises and then went over the homework to begin the period.

Today's topic dealt with using some algebra graphing skills and knowledge of right triangles to determine the distance between two points on a graph.  We derived the distance formula together and then went over a few examples together before the students got started on their homework.

We went over an entry task today before taking an SMI math inventory test in class.  This test was online and is used for proper class placement.  The testing took the entire period.

Today's topic involved adding to our language of geometry by discussing the terms ray, segment, midpoint, and bisector.  Each one of these terms involves various symbols and drawings, as well as some calculations.  We went through several examples before getting started on the homework.

We went over our homework and an entry task before getting started on the lesson today.  Today's work focused on working with exponential notation and how to substitute variables into various equations with exponents.  The students went through several examples with me before getting started on their homework at the end of the period.
